This chapter discusses the significance of urban spaces in cultivating creolization. It points out that urban spaces are more useful venues for improving cultural encounter than exclusionary locales of containment and homogeneity in remote and primordial wilderness. It adds that from the postwar period, cities became important sites of cultural encounter, making them ideal places for creolization of modern transitional contact.
