This chapter considers how Haitian identity can be rethought in light of transnational insights, and examines how Haitian intellectuals present competing visions of what it means to be part of the Americas. It makes the case that transnationalism, globalization, and diaspora have created a polyglot Haitian identity that makes any singular identification impossible.
