Rollini meets his future wife Dixie and becomes leader of the California Ramblers. Its owners, Kirkeby and Hand, decided to increase their business by building a resort in Florida called the Deauville Casino. The project runs into serious problems but Hand and part of the band move there, including Rollini. After some months he returns to New York while Hand stays in Florida and Kirkeby handles lawsuits. Rollini now takes full leadership of the band. He and reed player Bobby Davis are the highest paid band members.
