(p.3) Chapter 1 Sun Days and Hi Times
Memphis Boys

Roben Jones

University Press of Mississippi

This chapter describes the origins of the group in the 1960s along with brief backstories of its members. The musicians began to mingle in Memphis clubs, sitting in, going all over Memphis to hear one another: a joining of forces was inevitable. There seemed to be no grand design, no one person responsible for putting the combination together. The band was coming together; they were beginning to record; their sound was falling into place.
