Memphis Boys

Roben Jones

University Press of Mississippi

This chapter continues the discussion of the group’s success. The group was acquiring a reputation and they were even starting their own label. Everyone had enough money to care for their families as well as splurge on cars. Trail biking was another favorite pastime. The chapter also details the resentment over Chips Moman’s decision to appoint Glen Spreen as the second full-time string arranger for the group.
