This chapter surveys visual and literary images of the berimbau. These include the use of the berimbau as a Brazilian tourist symbol on store signs, company logos, and T-shirts; a large sculpture of a berimbau musician—Tocador de Berimbau—created by Bahian artist Mário Cravo Jr. in 1950 located in the lobby of the Hotel Nacional in Brasília; political cartoons featuring the berimbau; and images of the berimbau in Brazilian poetry.
