This chapter now turns to Elizabeth Stewart herself, beginning with her love of music and her aspiration to be a good musician or a music teacher just like her mother. The chapter talks about Elizabeth’s history and influences, how she fared at the Fetterangus Primary School, for example. The chapter also makes mention of the trouble that Elizabeth had to go through due to her traveller background—a background that brought about certain prejudices against her and her sister. There was also a time wherein Elizabeth would find herself playing in her mother’s band, an experience that would boost her confidence and only increase her love of performing on stage. The rest of the chapter narrates the events of her life that further provided details on the richness of this one special traveller family.
