The book’s conclusion alludes to some of the broader implications of the study by discussing possible directions for further research on the issues with which it is concerned. The chapter briefly advocates for further attention to ethnographic studies of place and for a more nuanced treatment of the notion of hybridity vis-à-vis Latin American and Caribbean nationalist discourses. Finally, it presents a few suggestions for future research in Cuban music studies.
